The seventh grade recently had an overnight field trip to Wright State University’s Grand Lake Campus. They first visited the Armstrong Space Museum for a STEM activity and museum tour. After lunch they headed to Grand Lake and learned about the history of the lake and the effect of algal bloom on the area. Earlier in October, the students had learned about algal bloom and had conducted Town Hall meetings as part of their research into the problem. The Grand Lake adventure showed them the real life impact.
Ms. Mellea put together a newsletter to explain the field trip and all they learned along the way. This newsletter and photos from the experience are in our digital archives: Grand Lake/St. Mary’s Overnight.
