We will have three separate Spring Programs in April.  One program will be held for Lower School, one for grades 3-4, and a variety show for grades 5-8.  See the details for each program below:

Gr K-2 Spring Concert

Dear families,

We’ve been hard at working preparing for our Lower School Spring Concert. I want to take this opportunity to make sure that you are aware of all the details.

The date of the K-2 Spring Concert is Thursday, April 4.  It will be a short evening featuring the music that we have been working on in class.  Students in K-2 will perform for the student body at our dress rehearsal during the last period of the day.  Tuesday evening’s concert begins at 6:30 p.m.  Students should arrive at 6:00 p.m. Doors will open shortly after.  Concert dress will be standard concert attire.  Boys should wear slacks (no jeans), dress shoes, and a button-up collared shirt or polo. Girls can wear the same or a dress. No spaghetti-strap dresses please.

Gr 3-4 Musical

Dear families,

Our spring concert season is quickly approaching! This year 3rd and 4th grades will be presenting a classroom musical on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:30 p.m. We’ve been working on “The Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit”.  It’s a super-fun 45 minute musical that tells the story of David and Goliath.  Casting has been completed, and individual families are being contacted about possible rehearsal times after school.  Most preparations will continue to happen during class time. We will need some after-school rehearsal time.

We are in crunch time, and we need our speaking roles memorized ASAP.  To help out with this, students with speaking rolls are being sent home with packets that include their scenes.  The scenes are short and can be memorized easily.  It will just take time and drill. We’ll need parental support to make sure that this is happening. Digital Audio files are being sent out so that students can listen to the scenes to help with memorization.  You can play these tracks anywhere!  How about in the car?  We’ll also have CDs available if that works better for you.  You can let me know when I contact you about speaking rolls and rehearsal times.

The musical is cast with leads and understudies for the leads. Understudies for the lead roles will perform the show at the dress rehearsal during the school day on April 16th.  The dress rehearsal is from 1:48 to 2:50. The lead roles will perform in the evening.

Costumes. We are purchasing costume pieces for all students. Students will need to wear their own sandals (leather preferred, but flip-flops will work if that is all you have).  Students will also need to wear shorts.  We are purchasing XXL t-shirts that will work as tunics, but shorts will be needed. Khaki, or light-colored shorts are preferred over darker colors like black or navy blue.
