The Ohio Department of Health requires reporting and notification of COVID-19 cases in all K-12 schools. To assist with contact tracing and help prevent further spread, the order requires schools to maintain a reporting system for parents to report positive COVID cases that have been diagnosed through laboratory test or through clinical examination.
Parents or guardians and school staff should notify Bethany School within 24 hours of receiving a positive test or a clinical diagnosis. Within 24 hours after receiving that notification, the school should notify other parents and guardians about that case in writing, providing as much information as possible without releasing protected health information. The school must also notify their local health department within 24 hours.
Beginning Tuesday, September 15, and each Tuesday thereafter, local health departments will report the number of newly reported and cumulative cases to the Ohio Department of Health. The Ohio Department of Health will publish this data by school or school district, including a breakdown by students and staff, each Thursday.

If You or Anyone in your family has been exposed to anyone suspected to have COVID-19 or confirmed to have COVID-19, your child(ren) should be kept home.

What Happens if My Child Tests Positive for COVID-19?
Parents should notify the school within 24 hours of receiving a clinical diagnosis or positive test result. The student may not return to school for 14 days from the time symptoms first appeared. If symptoms last beyond the 14 days, they will not be permitted to return until they have been symptom and fever free for at least 72 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
