The Mock Trial Team prepares for the Mock Trial Showcase, a competition sponsored by the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education.  It is an excellent opportunity for students to hone their critical thinking, writing, and speech skills.  As members of the team, our students act as witnesses, judges, attorneys, and jurors as they argue literature-based cases in court rooms around the state.  A great deal of preparation is necessary in order to succeed in this competition.  Students meet after school one day a week beginning in January and concluding with the Showcase in early April.

Who is Eligible?

This is a competitive team and the number of participants are limited by OCLRE.  Therefore, students are required to fill out an application and are selected based on an analysis of the evaluations.

Registration Process

An application must be submitted.  This application includes a student portion, a parent input form, and two teacher recommendation forms.  This application packet can be picked up from Ms. Cooper.

Registration Deadline

The application deadline is noted in the application packet.  Packets must be turned in by the deadline, NO EXCEPTIONS, to be considered for the team.
