Why Choose Bethany School?

At Bethany School, we nurture curious learners to discover a love for learning and develop meaningful connections to the world around them. Experiences both inside and out of the classroom help our students build strong character, with a focus on empathy, responsibility, independence, and a passion for service and leadership.

We are a beloved community.

Since 1898, we have remained a welcoming and inclusive community for students of all ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We celebrate our differences and learn from them. We work together and respect each other.

We are small—and strong.

Our classes are small by design, and do not exceed 15 students. With a 6:1 student to teacher ratio, our teachers get to know each student, their individual learning styles, and the best ways to challenge each of them to reach their full potential.

We are joyful.

We believe learning should be fun, so play and discovery are important aspects of our daily program. While we value hard work and are dedicated to quality education, we make sure our students have plenty of opportunities to simply be kids, and on our campus – enjoy nature!

We are spiritual.

Bethany School is rooted in Episcopal tradition and we encourage the exploration of all faiths. Our religion program and chapel services inspire children to discover what spirituality means to them and realize their potential and place in their community.

We are curious.

Our students learn by doing. Our dedicated teachers challenge them to think creatively and question the world around them. Hands-on activities, project-based learning, science lab work, and field trips at all grade levels are integral to the Bethany School learning environment, which is further enhanced by classrooms equipped with interactive monitors, laptops, tablets and other state-of-the-art tools.

We are high school ready.

Individualized attention in the classroom leads to impressive results. Bethany students have a 100% acceptance rate into top high schools, and their hard work pays off.  The students from the Class of 2021, for example, were offered nearly $300,000 in academic scholarships. Area private high schools eagerly recruit and welcome Bethany School graduates and often commend us on their preparedness. Recent high schools of choice included: Mueller, St. Xavier High School, The Seven Hills School, The Summit Country Day School, Ursuline Academy, La Salle, Roger Bacon, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, and Walnut Hills High School.

We are sustainable.

Part of what makes Bethany School so special is our beautiful campus and state-of-the-art facilities. Spread across 23 acres and seven separate buildings, our grounds offer students ample opportunities to enjoy the fresh air and nature that surrounds them while appreciating our school’s rich history. We use three of the school’s six original cottages—once used to board students—as well as the original stone chapel. 2 LEED-certified buildings, a campus greenhouse, 250 solar panels, and 108 geo-exchange wells help us fulfill our mission of protecting the environment.

We value technology.

Our state-of-the-art digital lab, recording studio, and classrooms equipped with 1:1 access to smart devices prepare our students for success in a technology-driven world.

We go beyond the classroom.

Extracurricular activities in fine arts, athletics, and academic enrichment help students develop better organizational and leadership skills and earn a greater sense of achievement. Community service opportunities allow students to experience how they can make a difference in the world and are an important part of their spiritual growth.
